Education
Education is at the core of our mission at Urban Archive. We develop digital applications, resources and engaging programs for both educators and students as active participants in the classroom and their respective communities.
If you are interested in working with Urban Archive to create custom-made lesson plans, resource guides, or programs around your organization’s mission and activities, please contact us at team@urbanarchive.nyc. We are currently developing the following programs:
Urban Archive - Desktop & Mobile
A platform where educators and students can explore city history with location-based discovery tools and a keyword search that spans the digital collections of 40-plus museums, libraries, and historical societies in New York.
Hands-On, Digital Applications
Our platform offers students a hands-on and personal approach to learning about history. With Urban Archive, users can curate and share their own collections, assemble and facilitate walking tours, and explore NYC’s historical holdings with our easy-to-use map interface.
Lesson Plans and Collections for Class
We’re assembling archival resources for educators. As an Urban Archive partner, you can explore/suggest lesson plans or help us design location-based guides for students like the ones you see listed below.
