Community and Events
Throughout the year, we host a number of events across the city with our partners. Our goal in bringing people together is to get people excited about the history of New York and our organizations’ collaborative missions.
Promoting Events on Urban Archive
Your organization can promote events on the Urban Archive app to users via our CMS Events Page. These events will appear in two places in the app:
Urban Archive’s event feed (found on the app home screen)
Your organization’s “Organization Page” in the app
Programs We Offer
Urban Archive events can be designed to support the opening of an exhibition, program launch, membership activity and so on. We’ve organized scavenger hunts, trivia nights, walking tours, and meetups in the past, but you can always suggest a new event idea by emailing us at team@urbanarchive.nyc.
Scavenger Hunts
Perfect for good weather and perhaps our most popular activity. These events are easy to organize and a fun way of getting New Yorkers out on city streets, exploring local history. Scavenger Hunts are powered completely by the Urban Archive app and work well with groups of all sizes. Learn more.
Trivia Night - Urban Archive Recreation Rounds
Perfect for the winter time. At these events, we’ll ask participants questions about NYC history based on archival photos and show them then/now images of historic sites across the city.
Meetups, Trainings and More
If not a Scavenger Hunt or Trivia Night, we’ll find another way to get people together to connect over similar interests, a new program, or a good cause. Here are some events we’ve hosted in the past:
