Governors Island History Hunt
This History Hunt is a list of 16 historical images from locations around Governors Island; for each historical image, we’ve provided a clue to its location. Try to locate as many as possible.
To get credit for solving a clue, check-in at the location (tap the lock button to the left; if you’re in the right place, it will turn green).
When you complete the challenge, take a screenshot and send it to us at hunt@urbanarchive.nyc. The first team to complete the History Hunt will win a prize!

National Ice Cream Sandwich Day
The ice cream sandwich was invented in 1899 by an unknown pushcart peddler in the Bowery neighborhood of New York City. 120 years later, Odd Fellows Ice Cream and Urban Archive are teaming up on National Ice Cream Sandwich Day (August 2nd) to bring New Yorkers the sweetest History Hunt yet. The first 20 people to finish the hunt will be rewarded with an ice cream surprise from Odd Fellow’s Ice Cream. Game on!
