Queens Public Library

WHITE LABEL partner SITE

Press-Release-Image.jpg

Queens Public Library is one of the largest and busiest public library systems in the United States, dedicated to serving the most ethnically and culturally diverse area in the country.

The Project

Queens Public Library (QPL) was interested in collecting stories from Queens residents during the COVID-19 pandemic. They wanted to develop a custom site using our technology to archive location specific stories in multiple languages. To get the project off the ground, we worked together to outline the key features that were required, then QPL began researching grants, while we started on design and development.

The Outcome

The joint nature of the project enabled QPL to quickly secure a grant from the New York Community Trust. The funds have been used on project management, design, development, and server costs. These location specific memories can now live on in their archive for future generations to research and explore, and the technology that’s been produced can be utilized by the other partners in the Urban Archive family.
