Urban Archive is a technology nonprofit that promotes historical research and discovery.

Our mission is to extend the reach of cultural organizations by providing them with collaborative tools to share local history. As part of this work, we strive to:

  1. Promote access to collections by creating a centralized resource for educators, academics, and amateurs alike.

  2. Encourage the study of local history by situating historical photography in context.

  3. Facilitate interaction with historical collections via engaging mobile features.

  4. Extend the reach of cultural institutions by introducing young and diverse audiences to historical content.

  5. Extend collections beyond museum walls, encouraging engagement with the city itself.
